Project Introduction
Massive investment planned for the Thames Gateway London area in the next 20 + years involving infrastructure projects such 120,000 new homes, millions square feet of commercial space, the new Thames Gateway Bridge, Crossrail, DLR, expansion of City Airport and new stations railway links, will bring huge commercial opportunities for the construction sector, which will be enhanced by a successful 2012 Olympics London bid and have been enhanced by a successful 2012 London Bid.
- To capture as much as of the construction work as practically possible, Building East is working to develop relationships between local small to medium sized construction businesses (SMEs) and developers, major construction contractors and government procurement offices.
- Building East are working with local businesses in getting fit to supply to take advantage of the opportunities to bid for contracts and strengthening the business sector.
- Part Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, working with the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Greenwich and Newham, the Building East project brings together a wide range of resources of proactive business support for local businesses.
